For a traveller, it's a good choice to ask your hotel to booking train ticket for you. Most hotels in China have paid service of train ticket booking.

Guangzhou East to Shanghai...
Hi Ken. May I ask which day (June 24, 2010 or June 25, 2010) next week the T100B train will depart from Guangzhou East to Shanghai? Since it's stated here on this website that "B" only runs every other day, kindly inform which date since it is already important for us to confirm our hotel reservation.

Also, we will arrive at Guangzhou on June 21, 2010. Would we still be able to purchase tickets (hard sleepers / soft sleepers) for June 24, 2010 or June 25, 2010 train depart from Guangzhou, only three days before? We would need four tickets from Guangzhou to Shanghai.

T100 and T100B both have tickets from Guangzhou to Shanghai. So it's no difference for you to take T100 or T100B.

I am not sure if you can get tickets at ticket window only 3 days in advance. I would like to suggest you to ask your hotel as you arrived Guangzhou. For most hotel have train ticket booking service with lower fee and generally they can obtain tickets for their guests.

Hi ken, hi JR NG.
In your posts, you are speaking about the advance for ticket booking, also.
Is it a real problem in China, or the doubt was only about EXPO in Shanghai?
In November, I'll have a three week trip through China and I want use the more trains I can, for my transfers!
What do you have to suggest me, about ticket purchase?
Have I need much advance, or, without particular events, it's easy getting ticket, in night trains too?
Thank you very much!!

It's quite a problem to booking train ticekts in China on some routes.
The simple way is to ask your hotel to booking tickets for you once you arrived one city, a fee charged. And then you need not think about train tickets.

hard sleeper coach from harbin to shanghai air conditioned or not?
I want to travel from harbin to shanghai by train K55/58 i think . I want to know if the hard sleeper coach is air conditioned or not? is it suitable to travel with family?

By: Ahsen at Jul 15, 2010 - 2:50
K55/K58 is air-conditioned and if you take hard sleeper you'd better buy middle sleeper and lower sleeper tickets for your family. The upper sleeper is too high for kids and elders.

Nanjing to Wuhan/Hankou D Train
I'm very confused. If type Nanjing to Wuhan I get "No direct trains." But there is a train from Shanghai to Wuhan that stops at Nanjing. Please explain.

Also is Hankou in Wuhan? If so what is the distance between Hankou Stationa and Wuhan station for the High Speed Trains?

By: Rod at Jul 12, 2010 - 0:59
1). Yes, it's D3002/D3003 from Shanghai Hongqiao to Wuhan. The schedule missed this train.

2). Wuhan <-> Hankou, 31km.

Shanghai to Suzhou
For months now I am travelling weekly between Shanghai Hongqiao and Suzhou and each time with scheduled flight arrival from Beijing at 20.00 (terminal 2) it is impossible to get the last bus to Suzhou(from terminal 1) at 21.00 hr.
Please, please, please add extra train to Suzhou at approx 21.00 hr or later !
